Hello, esteemed readers.
Today was such a mixed bag. Got back 2 results today, chem and emaths. Emaths was pretty well done albeit carelessness here and there but still managed to clinch a 87.sth % which isn't too shabby but unfortunately, fell short of my target of 90%, which is a pity. Chem was just a pure slaughterfest. Lost marks here and there because of lack of enough details in my answers and it all accumulated to cause it to become a big fat A2. Horrible =___= but oh well at least we got something out of this prelim one for chem, and that's to always write out the answers as detailedly as possible.
Well since I posted a lame excuse for a post yesterday, here's what I thought about Camp Emerge. The workshop was pretty useful and gave me some insights to what my future career may be. Through the DISC test I was able to find out that I'm more of a analytical person and a precisionist, which pretty much boils down to a more thinking job. This also shows I'm more geared towards science than the arts, which I sort of agree. Our instructor was a pretty interesting fellow too. The short and stout Zaccheus Goh was quite apt at keeping the class at attention and his little snippets of information and current affairs made it so much more punchy. Overall the workshop was an enjoyable experience.
The talks in the afternoon were mixed too. The journalism session was absolutely hilarious and was also such a learning experience. That Mr Singh is no joke and has surely left his legacy in VS in the 80s to 90s. He was a superb speaker and such a rare character, and it was an honour to have been able to sit down and listen to his little presentation. He is also one genuinely funny man, and I could've sat there for hours. The biochem one was the total opposite. I would've preferred the dark humour of the medical session than the boring and lame talk by the speaker at biochem. I fell asleep after the introduction and woke up when it was question time. Yes, that's how boring it was. Stayed back until 7pm after that to practise as well as to catch up with Gabriel who came to visit. He also gave some advice about how to choose our JCs and what to expect from MJ and VJ. The differences between the 2 are quite jarring, and will certainly help me in my decision after O Levels.
Mother Tongue O Levels on Monday and I don't feel a thing. I don't know whether it's a good thing or a bad thing, but I only have one weekend to prepare for it so I better not slack for this precious 2 days before it. Getting thrown back the rest of our results on Tuesday, which means I'll be dead by the end of the day. 3 days of lessons ensue after that and add chem extra lessons and AEP into the equation, you get one totally screwed up schedule and packed holiday. Well, at least not taking DSA clears up some room for that and I sincerely pray that I'll be able to make it through this period soundly.
Going to Open House later. According to them, this Open House is going to be much different than previous, mainly because of venue changes and the IP program that will be kick starting next year onwards. Attending to find out more about the program and hopefully the changes in the Open House will be positive ones. I may be helping out with the AEP promotion and stuff, but I hope I still can leave some time for Chinese revision and practice after it. I look forward to how the band performs as well.
Oh, clarinet clarinet, I must get better! I must be able to play well for Not So Silent Night at the end of the year. According to Gabriel, to get to play for NSSN, all you have to do is walk into the Tune-In and attend their practices and viola, you play for a concert and take part in a skit. Awesome news and I'm looking forward to it! Students from any school can participate so that means Sam and Ling Yi will have no problems joining provided all goes well. Since we're not DSAing, this would be the perfect thing to make up for it and I hope it'll be a good one. I'm looking forward to what's going to happen after O's (a bit early I know) and to be able to experience it when it happens, I gotta make sure I do a good job for O's!

It's great to have little motivations here and there, all for one ultimate goal.
