Just your everyday guy who wants to enjoy his life here on the tiny island of Singapore. Interested in Japanese culture, video games, meaningful flicks and hanging with great friends :)

btw if you're wondering where the "moko" came from, it's from a character in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles by Clamp which I was in love with back when I was Primary six. Have a great visit!

Holidays are Meh
The holidays are passing by so quickly and there's still a crapload to do for aep and other subjects as well. Well, holidays are meant to be enjoyed anyway. Push aside the "sec 4s have no holiday" mentality and have some fun is what I plan to do for the remaining 2 weeks of the holidays.

This Sunday was pretty...fun. It was just me, Sam and Ling Yi in the Esplanade library doing our thing. Apparently we go there so often (about half a year now) that the cafe staff recognize us every week and offer help here and there to make our studying experience a conducive one, which I appreciate wholeheartedly. Despite not getting much work done at all (only a Physics prelim paper 1 and an emaths paper 1), we had a good chat and I helped them with probability. I also realized how bad they were at Emaths, with one borderline passing and the other failing badly (I shan't say who) but at least I managed to help a bit here and there, so it reinforced my work as well :)

Ling Yi also recommended the movie showing at 10pm the same night as it was about classical music, so we all decided to go watch it. It turned out to be one of the best movies I've seen. The movie is French and is called Le Concert. Though the story was absurd at times, the ending was astounding and the emotional connection you develop with the characters through the whole plot swell up and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy when the ending arrives, a feat not many movies can do. The final piece, Tchaikovsky's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra was also truly astoundingly and one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring solo violin performances I have ever head and truly deserved a bravo. If you go facebook, you can see how I was going on and on about how great the movie was haha.

Went out with dad to Tampines today as he wanted to abuse my student to get a mobile broadband for my mom. We had a super filling meal at Din Tai Fung and then proceeded to the mobile shops. We went to look at all the different service providers until I told my dad about the iPhone's personal hotspot. He was baffled at the concept but after quite a lengthy explanation, he finally got it and we decided to let my mom try out her phone first before making any purchases (after all, she has an iPhone4 for goodness sake. WITH DATA PLAN). I went on how I did not get any reward for my ~good and improved~ [I was trying to persuade ok?] results and got new shoes and Duodecim! Awesome!

Tomorrow having a date with Benedict <3 .....nah ew, but looking forward to it :D It's gonna be fun, maybe do some hw and end it all with a movie at night (hopefully). I gotta have as much fun and entertainment and some social time with friends before I go back to that tiresome routine of AEP and homework again. The key to a good life is good work life balance, and no, it's not always 50/50. I've found out that to optimize your performance, a fitting work life balance for yourself. For me, it's more of 70% play and 30% work, but it works for me and it helps me to relax more when I'm studying or when taking an exam. Others may need 30/70 or 50/50 instead, so go and find out what gives you the best mood and best performance, so you may achieve to your maximum potential. :]

Alright, hope you liked this quick update. Less than 2 weeks of holidays left, and Chinese orals in approximately half a month, so I gotta get pumped! To my very few (or even 1) reader, make the most of your holidays! Maximise fun and work at the same time, never ever compromise any.
