Just your everyday guy who wants to enjoy his life here on the tiny island of Singapore. Interested in Japanese culture, video games, meaningful flicks and hanging with great friends :)

btw if you're wondering where the "moko" came from, it's from a character in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles by Clamp which I was in love with back when I was Primary six. Have a great visit!

Sorry for the mad delay for the post, I hope this doesn't become a trend.

So, happy June [late.] :) and within the period from the last post to now, I've gotten back all my results as well as gone through MT O's and a week of lessons -.- Ah well, I shan't talk anymore about results as here it is in a nutshell:

As you can see I dropped to 2nd but I don't hold a grudge or anything as Kang Jie beat me by a convincing 2.7%, and even so, I still pretty much trashed him in terms of L1R5. Looking at how I did for Prelims, I have to work much harder. My maths marks won't guarantee me the A1s in O's and my Sciences are pretty dangerous. My languages have dropped however my humanities went up a notch, which is pretty hopeful :D

MT O's was pretty mixed for me. For one, it was a first experience carrying out the procedure for O's [the annoying stickers] and the hall was not air-conditioned! It was literally an oven in the hall with many people, including me, sweating throughout the whole 2 papers. Guess we all brought our jackets for nothing. I won't say I was glad with my performance but alas, it is over and I have only until August to find out how I did. Orals and LC coming up, but I shouldn't have any trouble preparing for them. If all goes wrong, there's always November...right? ...

Well some sad news not just for me, but for Victoria School. Mr Anuar Ikhwan is leaving the teaching profession to do something a little different.

He has been with VS for 17 years and holds probably the next most important position other than Principal and VP, which is SHIT (School Head of Information Technology) and is responsible for the processing of every single student's results and subjects. He has also been the teacher in charge for VSCB since he came, and for the many generations of band members that came and went, me included, they all have him to thank for the wonderful time they had in the band program. He is a great role model and is not worried about getting his hands dirty as he helps out the students and his subordinates despite his busy schedule. He also doesn't forget about his own interests, picking up the piano at his age.

As a humanities teacher and a co-form teacher of my class who only took over at the start of this year, he has been a very versatile and helpful teacher indeed. During lessons he would always question us and keep us thinking on our feet, as well as repeat important components and even go to lengths to reteach topics that weren't done well last year and even hold consultation sessions with study groups. During Form Teacher periods, he would efficiently explain the administrative issues that have to done and gets the class moving.

I have to thank him a lot as well, as he has helped me as an individual. He taught me about society and how different it is after school life by teaching me many communicative skills as well as molded me into the person I am now. The exciting band program that kept me excited during sec 1 and 2, and the harsh criticism he has given me the past year as a Sec 3/4, Student Conductor and the ever stressful Arts and Archive Quartermaster. I wouldn't have known how much I could do if it weren't for him, in terms of Humanities, Band, and ultimately, life.
"Mr Ikhwan is like the school's defense system" [ripped off] and I fully agree. He will always be on my mind even after he leaves and I hope we'll be able to visit him. I'm sure not just me, or the band members, but the whole of Victoria and her alumni wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.

Tomorrow's going to be an awesome day. Any day that starts with church is an awesome day :] Visiting grandma's for lunch and then going to watch the Philharmonic Winds perform during tomorrow's Beautiful Sunday with Jeremy and the girls. It's going to be awesome and a sure inspiration. Catch ya guys later then, hopefully I'll be able to post more often but with the heavy workload which I haven't even touched, it's going to be quite a challenge. Ah well, just go with the flow, and pray it works out, after all, everything has been planned.
