weekly updates anyone?
Sorry for the long delay, this week has been really exhausting and I'm starting to remember why it's so hard to maintain a blog during school period. However, I will nevertheless continue to brave the winds and strive to continue to make this blog alive and kicking, so no worries :) So, once a week at least anyone? If I don't abide, slap me.
And so, I make my way to the reason behind all the exhaustion, which is the VJC ORIENTATION 2012! VJC far exceeded my expectations in the orientation, and my worries were blown out of the window by the second day. Now I certainly feel much better around girls, and I think this is an absolute necessity, seeing as how I'm in a class with 17 girls and 7 guys. 12S38 fighting! As you can tell, I have gotten my desired subject combination of BCME all H2, and hopefully I'll be able to cope with it well :) Well, let's dive into the juicy details of the orientation shall we?
Rather nervously, I entered the hall and found my OG, which was Avatar. VJ decided to use the letters in VICTORIA to make 8 different OGs consisting of iconic movie/comic characters. I was in sub group 3 led my Merlene, Jin Yang and Eelin, and together in my group were very very fun people :D We played a name game to get to know each other but the ice wasn't broken yet. There was an art selection test which I ponned and tried out the KI test for fun, but I don't think it's for me, though it is rather interesting! Station games ensued and that brought an end to day 1, leaving me with a great impression of the school.
I shan't type too much as I don't want to take too much time, but the over the next 4 days we would have bonded in awesome ways unimaginable if you were not there to witness it yourself. VJ's unrivaled camaraderie was observed in the way the J1s learnt their OG cheers, mass dances, school cheers and cooperated with each other through the indoor, outdoor and wet games. At the end of the week, Victorians were born!

Each day was very packed and on 2 occasions we went to Changi Airport to eat dinner as an OG, and I would which back home at unearthly hours. As an OG, we won 1st place in the games and overall in the orientation, and I am very proud to say I thoroughly enjoyed the orientation and I think those in the OG will stay my friends for a very, very long time. Friends in JC, friends for life (hopefully :D). Here's a shout out to my group mates: Genevieve, Wanqing, Jinlu, Zhangling, Audrey, Carissa, Hevina, Angela, Natalie, Juniana, Kai Jie, Gordon, Jia Hui, Kwan Meng and Marc (sorry if I missed anyone!)
My class on the other hand is very, very entertaining. We're a pure BCME class, with no Muslims. Of the 7 guys, 4 are from VS, those being me and Zhao Chen, as well as Yash and Kurum from IP. Carissa and Angela are my classmates too, which is an added bonus. Though I don't think we've completely broken the ice, I'm sure we'll be able to in the next few days and hopefully over the next 2 years, forge bonds which will last us a lifetime.
That being said, my best bud Benedict, as you can tell, has been hospitalised due to the collapse of his right lung. All my prayers go out to him that he may have a speedy recovery and that the check up tomorrow will bring positive results and will allow him to be discharged and return to school as fast as he can. Ignoring the uncanny coincidence to the incidents of Another, I sincerely hope that he'll be able to catch up fast and break the awkwardness in school :D
Well that's it for me. It sucks to post weekly as there's just too much in a week to cramp into a post and it takes an excessively long time to type out. Hopefully I'll be more motivated to post each day, then you may be able to better understand what's going through my mind. Gotta bring the yellow student particulars form tomorrow as well as think of what to say for My Story in class, which is basically telling your class your life story up to your current age within 10 minutes or so. There's also a food drive for J1s by VJC in collaboration with Food from the Heart, and really looking forward to working with my class and being better bonded!
A Victorian before, a Victorian now, a Victorian for life. Nothing is going to change that, and come what may, I'm going to have an awesome time here :)
